Integers

We been speaking about different types of numbers now lets work on Integers. An interesting concept in Mathematics is Integers.

Definition of Integers:- Integers is the collection of Positive numbers, negative numbers and zero. Numbers such as 0, 1, -1, 2, -2 are called as Integers. Here 1, 2, are positive integers and -1,-2 are negative integers. These collections are denoted by the letter Z.

Integers are represented by the number line above. Lets solve an easy example which will help you understand the concept better.

Example 1:

Which is greater -6 or 4?

Solution:

Locate these numbers on number line.

On the number line, 4 is right side of the -6. Hence 4 is greater than -6.

I am sure now it is clear and you will be able to work on number line. Work on it and let me know your comments.
