Irrational numbers

We been using numbers on a daily basis, this is what even a small child would do. He may say mom give me two chocolates, haven't you heard it? But it is used in our daily life. We have been learning what these numbers are and we have already understood what rational numbers are in my previous post. Lets learn about Irrational numbers now. To make it easy for you to understand the concept irrational numbers i have explained the same with the help of a definition and simple example.

Definition of a Irrational number:-The numbers which can not be written as rational are called as irrational numbers. It is not possible to find the exact value of an irrational number. All rational and irrational numbers can be marked on the number line. The set of irrational numbers form a set of real numbers. Infinite numbers can be obtained between two rational numbers.

Below i have a question which will help you understand the concept easily.

Question: Prove that is an irrational number by representing it in decimal form.

Answer:

is a non-terminating and non-repeating decimal.
is irrational
